During my academic career as researcher in cancer, one day, a normal researching day at laboratory, I admitted to myself that "I failed"in my profession. Nothing concerning my efficiency in the experiments, neither on my data to be published in international scientific journals, indeed I was a such diamond researcher, so precise, persevere and trust able.

But I lose, since I understood that my real passion was "to help people to live in the best way possible". This was the only thing I would have been desired, listening my truly inner thoughts and passion. Then I had two options: one, going on a researcher who I didn´t know if it would have brought me happiness in all my life; two: accept the failure and start to react fast! .. and I started a new academic pathway, learning again as a young student.. because the failure showed me up my best skills and best emotional state for my future.


The most common mistake... is just to accept the failure, without giving a reasonable results on changing... the learning change.


Let´s start to practice the failures dynamic.


Tip #1 - Name your failure


Write it down simply, what was your failure and why was a failure.




Tip #2 - Explain your feelings


Which were your feelings at the exact moment of the failing event?

What are your current feelings regarding the failure you had?

Some of listed emotions are negative ? If the answer is yes, let´s proceed on tips #3

Tip #3 - Make your personal path


Write down the events when your felt succeed and which were the related emotions.

Where you are, with whom, doing what?


Tip #4 - Mix it up


Take the failure on your hand, it happened, you cannot change it, but you can use it to understand better what you really want... but now take the emotions you desire to have and especially.... the new pathway you would like to take.


Tip #5 - Success with actions


Put in practice your learning and future plan:


Which are the things you have to do to go on?

Do you need help or advice from someone?

Which are your schedule time plan and which are the deadline on your plan?

Which are your expectations?
